Evan and Dirk Bajema founded Hunya Munya Records in 2002 with a shared vision: to establish a distinctive platform for releasing quality music under their own creative direction. As co-producers for six years, they sought to build a trademark sound and foundation that would stand apart in the electronic music landscape.<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In its early years, Hunya Munya released nine successful vinyl records, earning recognition in the early-to-mid 2000s before transitioning into the digital era. The label refined its roster to focus on select artists, most notably UK electronic composer Rykard, while continuing to explore a broad spectrum of electronic genres\u2014from progressive and tech house to downtempo and chillout.<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Today, Evan manages Hunya Munya from the Los Angeles area, producing under various aliases while overseeing both the label and its publishing operations. Dirk, who passed away in 2004, remains an enduring part of the label\u2019s history and will forever be remembered with love and respect.<\/div>\n\n\n\n
