Born in Budapest on January 6, 1980, Snake Sedrick grew up surrounded by music thanks to his father’s passion for sound. He began playing synthesizer in primary school, and by age 15 was experimenting with his first computer. What started as gaming soon turned into music creation, as he discovered the potential of digital production.
In the late ’90s, his formative experiences at Hungary’s legendary Flört Discotheque — particularly hearing Quench’s Dreams — left an indelible mark on his musical direction. Sedrick began producing using Fast Tracker, gradually honing his skills until, in 2000, he wrote Across the Sahara. The track was supported by Mo Shic and later released on Sauna Recordings, marking Sedrick’s breakthrough. Impressed, Mo Shic invited him to contribute an exclusive track for his mix CD DJ Mag World Series – Mixed by Mo Shic (2001, UK), cementing Sedrick’s arrival on the international scene.
Collaboration soon followed. His track with Andro, She Is My Destiny, appeared on Progressive Sounds of Budapest (mixed by Kühl & Monkz), while their follow-up Liquid State & Solid State was signed to Italy’s Screen Recordings. By 2005, Sedrick had released three vinyl singles — Alterna, Fields, and Circular — further solidifying his reputation. His productions also appeared on high-profile compilations including SOG Files, Inception, Budapest Parade 2003/2004, and mix albums from global names such as Hernán Cattáneo, Andrew K, DJ 19, and Tomas Haverlik.
Parallel to his studio work, Sedrick launched his DJ career in 2003. In just over a year, he became a fixture in Hungary’s club circuit and soon expanded internationally, performing across the Emirates, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria. His track Circular (with Khans) was voted Track of the Year in 2005 by Partycom Evote.
That same period, Sedrick co-founded Tilth Music with Slovakian producer Peter, serving as both producer and A&R. Between 2005 and 2007 he released 22 tracks on the label while also launching Tilth DJ’s Agency in 2007, joining peers such as Jay Lumen and Add 2 Basket. Alongside Andro, Yvel & Tristan, and Proton Radio, he also co-hosted the monthly four-hour radio show Indigo, showcasing the cutting edge of progressive and melodic house.
With a career spanning productions, remixes, international gigs, and label management, Snake Sedrick has become a key figure in Hungary’s electronic scene and a respected name on the global stage.
